High pressure will build into the region by tonight into Wednesday bringing fair weather tomorrow into Thursday. A warm front will lift through the North Country Wednesday night through Thursday morning bringing a quick shot of rain and some gusty winds. The next chance of significant rainfall should arrive Friday night as another Gulf moisture laden low pressure system lifts out of the Ohio River valley bringing a soaking rain to the region through much of the upcoming weekend. On the plus side, temperatures will moderate considerably by the end of the week bumping into the 70s by Friday and continuing above average through the weekend despite the rainfall.

We’ll see mostly cloudy skies today with a high near 46 and northwest winds around 17 mph gusting to 28 mph. Tonight should be mostly cloudy with a low around 30 and northwest winds 5 to 9 mph becoming light after midnight.

Wednesday should be sunny with a high near 54 and northwest winds 3 to 8 mph.
Wednesday night should bring increasing clouds with a low around 35 and light and variable winds becoming southeasterly 5 to 10 mph in the evening.

Thursday should be mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of showers. Highs will be near 52 with south winds 9 to 16 mph gusting to 26 mph. New rainfall amounts between 1/10″-1/4″ are possible. About Today’s Photo:

Phoebes are another fine spring harbinger. These active little insectivores arrive in early spring as insects start to emerge. Their distinctive “phee-bee!” call is one of the first new voices after the snows melt.

Blog Note:

You may notice, whether you’re receiving this blog post in your email or looking at it on the web, that there are no more ads showing up (hopefully). After an irate <wink> reader contacted me yesterday about how the ads that WordPress inserts (it is an ad supported service) made it really difficult to read the blog, I decided to spend the big bucks ($3/month!) to have the ads removed. If you’re still seeing them, please let me know. Otherwise, enjoy the ad-free content!

  2. Hey John, I didn’t have much issue with the ads— the ones I got were at the bottom of the post and relatively easy to pass over. But ad-free is more pleasant!
In addition to your weather wrap-ups, I really enjoy your seasonally topical pics and observations; please keep up your explorations!
