Exceptional Weather Events:

  • 1/4/98: The New England Ice Storm
  • 12/1/10: The Big Blow. Countless trees blown over by persistent winds
  • 8/28/11: Tropical Storm Irene
  • 7/3/13: Major flooding in Huntington from freak rainfall event
  • 12/10/14: Major heavy, dense snowfall (15.75″) with extensive tree damage region wide.
  • 3/14-16/17: Largest snowfall from single storm: 35″ here

    I love the artistic aspect of today’s (and every day’s) photography but I have to paraphrase Mark Twain’s comment about a dog: “If I owned half of that grape vine, I’d chain saw my half.”

    Just discovered this part of your blog. This is great, thanks. Can’t wait to see your June 2015 precipitation total. At our house we are about 12 in. And I think at your house you’ve had a bit more.
