New England Asters in bloom in the front field.

Morning Observation:

This morning in Huntington at 8:55AM it’s currently 50 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Winds are calm. Relative humidity is 99%, dewpoint 50, barometric pressure 30.13″ and rising. We picked up 0.5″ of rain in the past 24hrs. Yesterday’s high was 59, and the overnight low was 38.

Forecast:

High pressure over the region this morning will give way to an approaching cold front later tonight into Monday. We’ll see partly sunny skies today with highs in the upper 60s and south winds around 10 mph. Tonight should be mostly cloudy with showers likely, mainly after midnight. About Today’s Photo:

It’s a good time of year for asters. We’ve got several varieties blooming in our front field and along the fringes of our back yard. This New England Aster (Aster novae-angliae) is quite common and offers lovely splashes of color against the yellowing green of the field grasses.
