Decidedly purple purple-stemmed asters

Morning Observation:

We’ve got a lovely fall day on tap as high pressure remains in control over the region. Tonight, high pressure will shift east and offshore over the Canadian Maritimes, allowing for a more active weather pattern to return to the region. A
warm front will push through the region Tuesday bringing breezy conditions and widespread rain. A cold front will then move through Wednesday, bringing more showers and possibly some thunderstorms during the afternoon. Behind the frontal passage, Thursday looks drier as high pressure settles in once again.

We’ll see sunny skies today with highs around 60 and light and variable winds, becoming southeasterly around 10 mph this afternoon. Tonight should be mostly clear with lows in the mid 40s and southeast winds 10 to 15 mph gusting up to 30 mph.

About Today’s Photo:

We came across these decidedly purple purple-stemmed asters while walking at Pointe Au Roche State Park the other day. Usually the petals of this variety of aster or more blueish in color.
