An upper trough will move through the region today bringing cooler temperatures and a chance of rain showers. A ridge of high pressure will build slowly east from the Great Lakes tonight and will bring a prolonged period of mainly fair and dry weather to the north to the region through early next week. About Today’s Photo:

Black-and-yellow garden spiders (Argiope aurantia) are quite common here in Vermont. This fine lady had recently caught herself a fly and was snacking on it when I came across her. She scurried away when I got low to shoot and then slowly returned to continue her meal.
