The high pressure that delivered our glorious weekend weather will give way to a frontal boundary later today. This cold front will slowly push through the region tonight and through much of Tuesday. We’ll see partly sunny skies today with highs in the upper 70s and light and variable winds, becoming southwesterly around 10 mph this afternoon. Tonight should be partly cloudy with a chance of showers until midnight, then mostly cloudy with showers likely with a slight chance of thunderstorms after midnight as the cold front moves in. Lows will be in the upper 50s with south winds around 10 mph until midnight, becoming light and variable. Chance of rain is 70%.

Tuesday will bring a chance of thunderstorms and occasional showers. Highs will be in the lower 70s with south winds around 10 mph, becoming northwesterly in the afternoon. Chance of rain is 80%. Tuesday night should be partly cloudy with a chance of showers. Lows will be in the upper 40s with northwest winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain is 50%.

About Today’s Photo:

The Japanese beetle hiding on the leaf in the lower left corner of this shot was a bit of a surprise. I didn’t see him (her?) at first, but then decided to make it the focal point of the composition. The late afternoon light makes for a dreamy shot.
