Cottony seedpods backlit by the sun along Taft Road. (Can anyone identify this plant for me?)

Morning Observation:

This morning in Huntington at 6:35AM it’s currently a balmy 37 degrees under partly cloudy skies. Winds are out of the southwest at 0-6 mph. Relative humidity is 51%, dewpoint 20, barometric pressure 30.35″ and falling. 24hr high was (is) 37, low 32. We have 4″ of snow at the stake.

Forecast:

A strengthening southerly air flow will deliver much warmer temperatures for the next two days. We’ll see clear skies today with highs reaching the low-50s with winds from the South at 10-15 mph and gusting to 20-30 mph. Tonight should be partly cloudy with overnight lows waaaay above normal – around 48F – with light winds.

Thursday will be warmer still with partly cloudy skies in the morning, then mostly cloudy with rain showers later in the day as a cold front moves in from the west. Highs will be around 55F with winds from the SSW at 5-15 mph and gusting to 40 mph.
