Morning Observation:

This morning in Huntington at 7:20AM it’s currently 48 degrees and raining lightly under overcast skies. Winds are calm. Relative humidity is 89%, dewpoint 45, barometric pressure 29.83″ and falling. We’ve picked up 0.11″ of rain overnight. Our snowpack took a hit over the past 24hrs and we have just spotty bits here and there and 0″ at the stake. 24hr high was 54, low 41.

We’ll see rain today courtesy of an approaching cold front and associated low pressure. Highs today will be in the upper 40s with south winds 10 to 15 mph gusting up to 30 mph. Chance of rain is near 100%. Tonight should be cloudy with rain or snow likely until midnight, then a chance of snow showers after midnight as colder air moves into the region behind the front. We may see snow accumulation a dusting to 2 inches with higher amounts over mountain terrain. Lows will be in the mid 20s with northwest winds around 10 mph until midnight, becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Wednesday should be mostly cloudy and dry with highs in the upper 30s and northwest winds around 10 mph. Wednesday night should be cloudy with a 50% chance of snow showers as an upper level disturbance approaches from the Great Lakes. Lows will be around 18 with west winds around 10 mph.

Thursday’s looking cloudy with a 50% chance of snow showers. Highs will be in the mid 20s with northwest winds 10 to 15 mph gusting up to 30 mph. Thursday night should be partly cloudy with lows 10 to 15. We may see snow accumulation of 1-2 inches in the valleys and 3-4 inches over higher terrain north.
