Morning Observation:

This morning in Huntington at 7:20AM it’s currently 14 degrees under overcast skies. Winds are out of the west at 0-4 mph. Relative humidity is 83%, dewpoint 9, barometric pressure 30.01” and rising slowly. We have 2” of snow at the stake. Yesterday’s high was 32, and the overnight low was 9.

Forecast:

Low pressure moving out of the Great Lakes will drag a warm front through the region this afternoon and tonight bringing light snow to the region mainly this afternoon and tonight. A ridge of high pressure will build into the region on Sunday and will remain over us through Monday, with fair and dry weather expected. A low pressure area moving northeast across the western Great Lakes Monday night and Tuesday will bring a mix of sleet, freezing rain and rain to the region Monday night and Tuesday, with some ice accumulation possible. Ugh.

We’ll see cloudy skies today with a 50% chance of snow this afternoon. Highs will be around 30 with south winds 10 to 15 mph. Tonight snow is likely with total snow accumulations of 2″ to 4″. Lows will be in the upper 20s with southwest winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of snow is 70%.

Sunday should start out cloudy with a 20% chance of snow showers in the morning, then become partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 30s with west winds 10 to 15 mph. Sunday night should be partly cloudy with lows around 13 and light and variable winds.

Monday’s looking partly sunny with highs in the lower 30s and light and variable winds. Monday night should be cloudy with a chance of sleet. Lows will be in the upper 20s. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
