Pale beech leaves with a dusting of snow

Morning Observation:

This morning in Huntington at 7:35AM it’s currently 30 degrees under overcast skies. Winds are calm. Relative humidity is 91%, dewpoint 27, barometric pressure 30.15” and rising slowly. We picked up 1” of new snow in the past 24hrs and have 3.5” at the stake. Yesterday’s high was 34, and the overnight low was 29.

A weak ridge of high pressure is building into the region this morning and will contribute to a quite day weather-wise. Low pressure moving out of the northern Great Lakes overnight will bring the next chance for snow showers Wednesday morning. Colder air will move into the region Thursday night into the weekend.

We’ll see cloudy skies early with glimpses of sunshine expected late. Highs will be around 35F with light and variable winds. Tonight should be cloudy with late-night snow showers. Lows will be around 27F with light and variable winds. Chance of snow is 70% with snow accumulations of less than 1″.
