A barred owl poses patiently by the side of the trail

Morning Observation:

This morning in Huntington at 7:35AM it’s currently 62 degrees under overcast skies. Winds are calm. Relative humidity is 98%, dewpoint 61, barometric pressure 30.01” and rising. We picked up 0.05” of rain overnight. Yesterday’s high was 75, and the overnight low was 62.

Tonight should be partly cloudy until midnight, then clearing. Lows will be in the upper 50s with light and variable winds.

Tuesday should be mostly sunny and unseasonably warm with highs around 80 and southwest winds around 10 mph. Tuesday night should be mostly clear with lows in the mid 50s and west winds around 10 mph.

Wednesday’s looking sunny with highs in the mid 70s and west winds around 10 mph. Wednesday night should be mostly clear with lows in the lower 50s.

About Today’s Photo:

Robin & I were walking down a busy trail towards the Hopewell Rocks on the shores of the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick when I spotted this barred owl sitting in a tree not 10′ off the trail. The Rocks are a very popular tourist attraction, and people were passing along the gravel path quite frequently. Once I started taking pictures of the owl, a bit of a crowd formed, but the owl just sat there patiently as if he (or she) were a paid performer for the tourists’ delight. Mission accomplished…
