Morning Observation:

This morning in Huntington at 9:05AM it’s currently 31 degrees under overcasts skies. A few lazy snowflakes are falling. Relative humidity is 91%, dewpoint 29, barometric pressure 29.91”. Yesterday’s high was 38, and the overnight low was 30. We have 1.25” of crusty snow at the stake.

Forecast:

A series of weak upper level disturbances will move down from Canada today through Sunday bringing several rounds of scattered snow showers especially in the higher terrain of the ‘Dacks and Green Mountains. A strong high pressure system will build into the region late Sunday night and bringing the coldest air of the season with highs on Monday only in the single digits to low teens.

We’ll see cloudy skies today with a slight chance of snow showers this morning, then a 50% chance of snow or rain showers this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 30s with west winds around 10 mph. Tonight should be cloudy with a 20% chance of snow showers. Lows will be in the lower 20s with west winds around 10 mph.

Saturday should be cloudy with a 20% chance of snow showers. Highs will be in the lower 30s with west winds 10 to 15 mph. Saturday night snow showers are likely with light snow accumulations of a dusting to 2″ possible overnight. Lows will be in the mid 20s with southwest winds around 10 mph. Chance of snow is 60%.

Sunday’s looking cloudy with a 50% chance of snow showers. Highs will be in the lower 30s with southwest winds around 10 mph. Sunday night should be mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of snow showers as the aforementioned cold front moves through. We may see a couple of inches of new snow overnight with 2″-4″ over higher summits overnight. Lows will be 5 to 10 above.
