The oak in our front yard holds its leaves for quite a while…

Morning Observation:

This morning in Huntington at 5:55AM it’s currently 30 degrees under overcast skies. Winds are out of the southwest at 4-7 mph. Relative humidity is 82%, dewpoint 25, barometric pressure 29.52” and rising. We picked up 0.29” of rain and about 1/4” of crusty snow in the past 24hrs. Snowpack is down to just a dusting now. Yesterday’s high was 38, and the overnight low was 30.

Forecast:

Unseasonably chilly air will push into the region today and persist through Saturday. Scattered flurries and snow showers are expected on and off through the period but for most areas accumulations will be light or negligible. We’ll see mostly cloudy skies this morning, then partly sunny skies later in the day. There’s a 50% chance of snow showers. Wednesday should be mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers in the morning, then become partly sunny with a slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Lows will be around 20 with south winds around 10 mph.

Thursday’s looking cloudy with a 50% chance of snow showers. Highs will be in the lower 30s with southwest winds 10 to 15 mph gusting up to 30 mph. Thursday night should be mostly cloudy with a 40% chance of snow showers and lows around 20.
